Prevent Another Westport Stray
Meet PAWS
P.A.W.S. is a volunteer-based cat rescue started over 10 years ago to help control Westport’s feral cat population. We’re a dedicated group of locals trying to reduce the suffering and population of stray and feral cats in the area. Working with other local cat rescues and veterinarians we trap, spay/neuter, release or, if possible, find homes for the cats and their kittens.
Keeping the feral cat population down benefits everyone by reducing private property damage, improving overall community cleanliness, preventing the spread of feline infections and diseases, and decreasing predation on native wildlife like songbirds.
We support some fosters with the equipment and food for taking care of homeless cats. Since COVID we’ve been working overtime to keep up with the influx of cats in our immediate area and we need your help to keep the good work up and the feral cat population down.
